Ram Mandir In Ayodhya

Why Building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya Is Important?

Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan

First of all Jai Shri Ram to everyone! Today is a wonderful day for Hindu’s all over the world. We are so blessed that we are witnessing “Bhumi Pujan of Shri Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama”. This is an event which will be marked as a golden moment in India’s cultural and spiritual history. I thank Lord Rama to give this opportunity to us. Also, I pay my humble homage to all those who sacrificed everything to make this happen.

Philosophical Context

Now, regarding the topic of this blog. This blog is not a usual tabloid content. These are my thoughts about Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan. I hope to keep this blog precise and to the point about “Why building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is important?” There are many places available online for historic and legal references. In this blog I will try to stick to my opinions, conclusions and rationale.

As a student of history, I have learned that some cultures, ideologies do not tolerate any other culture which has a different belief system. These cultures and ideologies may not always be religious in classical terms. But, despite having various roots all of them have one SOP in common. “Destroy the symbols which represent other cultures or ideologies in order to impose themselves on the society”. Please read my blog to find out how it works?

In similar fashion, Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was destroyed and a Mosque was built on top of it. Similar destruction has happened all over India during “Muslim rule era”. I would have refrained using this term but, many muslims believe in this rule. Theoretically speaking these were radical Islamic rulers on a campaign of spreading Islam by destroying, oppressing indigenous religions and cultures.

Destruction of symbols of culture and symbols is the best way to destroy the self respect of the society. Because, every time people following “other belief” see their symbols destroyed (Ram Mandir in this case) it reminds them how helpless they are? How meek their community is? And There is really no way to hold their heads high and be proud of who they really are? This is exactly what has happened with Hindu’s of India.

Resurrection is Not Destruction

Many will ask this question “If destruction of Ram Mandir by Babar was wrong, how is it that destruction of Babri Masjid is right?”

I am no one to defend anyone and also disrespect Hon. Supreme Court. A lot has already been said and concluded in the courts as well. The simple answer to this question is that Resurrection is Not Destruction. Today’s event of Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan is the resurrection of our belief, our Hindu culture, our self respect and most importantly Bharat as a nation! Whether one believes or not Sanatan Dharma and the Hindu ethos are the common threads that bind each and every one of us Bharatiya. Today is the day when these threads will be rejuvenated.

Many were arguing about why Ayodhya? Why only Ram janma bhumi? Can’t we build Ram Mandir at some other place? My answer is no! It is part of our belief, and now it has been proved in modern day courts as well that Ayodhya is indeed the birthplace of Lord Rama. It is important to recognise this place and its importance in the life of a Bharatiya. Ayodhya is the place where the epitome of best of human behaviour Maryada Purushottam was born. Hence, beyond the quarrel of who did what?, I feel it is important to recognise this place and pay due respect.

This is why building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is important. It will help us all realize who we truly are and remove all the darkness from our minds. As you can already witness around, it has already united us. This is the strength of recognising your roots and your culture. Belief system cannot survive in isolation. Similarly, a society cannot survive for long without a deep rooted indigenous belief system and also the existence of its practice. Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan is not only merely a religious even but also is also a message to all that “Truth shall always triumph”. Have faith in Lord Rama.

Finally, I wish you all a very happy day of Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan. Let Lord Rama show us the path of Dharma. I will finish my blog with following chaupai by great Goswami Tulsidas Maharaja from Ramcharitmanas

होइहि सोइ जो राम रचि राखा।
को करि तर्क बढ़ावै साखा॥

Whatever Lord Rama has in mind only that will happen
Who will (unnecessarily) expand the branches of reasons based on mere thoughts?
